There are different tests that can be performed to correctly diagnose Atrial fibrillation. All the tests depend of looking at your heart rhythm especially at the times you have symptoms.
- EKG
- Holter monitor (24 hours or 48 hours)
- Event Monitor (30 days)
- Loop recorder
What if a test was done and nothing was picked up. If you continue to have any symptoms then further testing should be done which may include one of the above monitors for a longer period of time or a stress test or echocardiogram.
